SANTIAGO BLANCO CHOYA

After graduating in Valladolid as a Technical Architect and, later, as a Building Engineer, he trained as an actor at Estudio Corazza (Madrid) and at Susan Batson Studio (New York).
In Spain he toured with different theater companies like Rayuela and La Extraña Compañía. He combined work in theater, film, television and fashion with work as a painter and sculpture at Estudio Labbrut and an active member of the artistic collective Art|Banchel (Madrid).
He trained as a sculptor at the Moncloa School of Ceramics (Madrid) and was inmerged in the Madrid art scene as a whole, combining the world of acting, architecture, design, painting and sculpture. He collaborated closely with the multidisciplinary artist Ernesto Artillo.
In 2022, he is invited to Oaxaca de Juárez (Mexico) to share his sculptures at the Mawey music festival. He develops lithography and monotypes at La Máquina Workshop located in that city and opens his solo exhibition Levita with 6 sculptures in wood and iron and 7 paintings (intervened lithographs and monotypes).
